Donor Eligibility

DONATE BLOOD TO RESEARCH. HELP SAVE LIVES.

Are you interested in participating in exciting and life-changing research that saves lives?

Contact Solomon Park now to discuss how you can participate in medical research studies like one of the many studies attempting to find a vaccine for the novel coronavirus by donating blood at our donor center.

Solomon Park Research Laboratories has been privileged to receive tens of thousands of blood donations over the past twenty years. We have had and will continue to have an enormous impact on global health. And we couldn’t do it without you, our valued donor.

A few criteria must be met before you can donate, to prioritize your health and safety.

General Donation Guidelines

This is a list of the general donation guidelines for individual donors:

  • Donors must be at least 16 years of age.
  • 16-year old donors need parental consent.

Individuals who meet one or more of the following conditions are also not eligible to donate blood:

  • Used injectable drugs in the last 3 months, unless prescribed by a physician.
  • Ever had a positive HIV/AIDS test.
  • Ever tested positive for hepatitis B or hepatitis C.

These are just the general guidelines for blood donors.

If, as a donor, you should not donate blood if you feel unwell on the day you are scheduled to donate blood. Please should rather contact Solomon Park to reschedule your appointment.

Because Solomon Park Research Laboratories supplies blood samples to the medical research industry, we often require donors with specific conditions like kidney disease, diabetes, and Ischaemic heart disease.

Should you have a chronic illness or other physical condition, connect with us to discuss your donor options.

We also manufacture laboratory equipment control and calibration samples from human serum. Therefore, our blood donor requirements are less specific than organizations who collect donated blood for transfusions. However, our aim is not to put our donors at risk at all.

Do not hesitate to contact Solomon Park Research Laboratories, Inc., should you have any questions about our donor program, and whether you are eligible to donate blood to support one or more of our research programs.
